Chinese New Year

Since I'm Taiwanese, and Chinese New Year is a big deal, our families all get together every year sometime in February. The elders give us red money bags, we eat a lot, and play games, but recently, we added on a new unofficial tradition- painting nails! So every year, I assemble a box of polishes that I think my relatives will like with designs in mind, and after dinner, they stretch out their hands and I paint away!

These are actually mine. My mom thought of lanterns when she saw it, so instead of just calling this "CNY Nails", it is now called "Golden Lanterns for Chinese New Year Nails". Haha.

I love gradients.

For my oldest aunt! This is actually a lot pinker, but the lighting wasn't the greatest, and I don't have time to edit them now. My aunt's nails are really wide and really long.. I LOVE THEM it's like an XL canvas.

My second aunt is very cutesie and loves things like Hello Kitty, so I thought she might like these simple glittery cherry blossoms.

My second aunt's other hand- roses. And she's holding my favorite color of all time from The Face Shop. There's not really a name for it; just look for the glittery white bottle.

My older cousin. Black matte to go with his leather jacket! He only let me paint his nails, because his mom said that if he didn't bite them, she'd give him money. He thought that having nail polish on them would make them taste bad or something, but I don't think it worked!?

My grammaaaaa on my dad's side. She usually likes purplish pinkish shiny colors, but they usually don't match her skin tone. I tried this color, which I think is better, but I think next time, she'll stick with her purplish pinkish colors.

My older cousin has really tiny nails! She had a lot of fun experimenting with colors and using my dotter. I only painted her index, ring, and pinky fingers!
